 You’ve heard of core vocabulary and its role in supporting communication for students with complex needs. Where do you go from here for access to in-depth professional development and resources you can print and use right away? Project Core! Project Core from the Center for Literacy and Disability Studies (http://www.project-core.com/) provides professionals with professional development modules, resources, and core vocabulary systems. In this webinar, we will explore this resource and discuss examples of how they can be used based on the presenter’s personal experience.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will explore Project Core’s Professional Development Modules and learn how to use them individually and in groups.

Participants will explore Project Core’s Universal Core Communication Systems and be able to describe the differences between them.

Participants will receive an overview of Project Core’s Teaching Supports and Implementation Resources. 


Sarah Kinsella is a Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and supporting students with complex communication needs. She holds a Master’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and has worked in the public school setting for 11 years. She also served as the district Assistive Technology Specialist for 6 years, working with multidisciplinary teams and families to support students with a variety of Assistive Technology and AAC needs.  She is passionate about her field and thankful for the students with whom she works as they help her learn and grow along the way.'
