This webinar, based on a previous SETC AT Chatter topic that participants wanted to know more about, discusses some of the many resources available for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Assessments. This webinar will not cover the assessment process, but highlight a variety of resources (including tests, blogs, app-based supports) that providers can use to conduct their own AAC assessments.
Participants will learn about two assessment resources for emergent communicators and students with complex physical and communication needs: The Communication Matrix (https://communicationmatrix.org/) and Every Move Counts, Clicks, and Chats (Korsten, Foss, and Berry 2007);
Participants will have an overview of two paper-based tests for AAC: The Test of Aided Communication Symbol Performance and The AAC Profile;
Participants will receive an overview of an app based AAC assessment tool (AAC Eval Genie) and a list of online AAC evaluation resources.
