Description:

This webinar provides an overview of switch training software for students who need opportunities to learn and practice switch use.  The programs will show a progression of skills from using single switches for cause and effect to using two switches for scanning and choice making.  Programs to be highlighted include:  SENSwitcher, Simtech Switch Bundle, Learning Two Switch Scanning, Clicker 6, Helpkidzlearn subscription activities, and Learning Two Switch Scanning by Judy Lynn.   Use of these software programs can provides teachers and therapists with a clear view of a child’s switching abilities, both in the realm of physical access and cognitive understanding of switches.

Presenter:

Kristin Leslie is an occupational therapist and an assistive technology specialist. She has worked as an OT in Washington state public schools for 13 years and currently works in the Zillah School District. Her role at SETC involves teaching webinars and classes, as well as collaborating with districts on implementing assistive technology with children with wide range of physical and cognitive abilities.
