Description:

 Do your students struggle to learn math and/or demonstrate what they have learned?  Have you wondered what tools are available to support your math curriculum?  This webinar will introduce software and web tools that may help your struggling math students.  This webinar will specifically target elementary level math concepts such as basic number sense, addition and subtraction.  We will take participants through an elementary math lesson using the tools. Participants will receive a list of apps and learn how to use at least two of those to help elementary students practice basic math skills.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will learn how to use at least two websites to help elementary students practice basic math skills

Participants will learn how to use the MathView feature in Kidspiration

Participants will learn how to create low tech, hands on math manipulatives

Presenter:

Linda Doehle has recently worked as an Assistive Technology Specialist for the Yakima School District. She graduated from Whitworth College where she majored in computer science and mathematics. She started her career as a software engineer and independent computer consultant. Linda enjoys being able to use her technology skills in helping students optimize their abilities through the use of assistive technology.
