This webinar will provide an overview of switch training resources and meaningful ways to build switch activities into the school day. The resources and programs will show a progression of skill levels from using single switches for cause and effect to using two switches for scanning and selecting for AAC use.
Participants will receive a brief overview of hardware necessary for switch use across platforms.
Participants will become familiar with switch training programs and meaningful switch training activities.
Participants will receive resources for planning for effective and meaningful switch use.
Kristin Leslie is an occupational therapist and an assistive technology professional who has worked in special education in Washington State Public Schools for 19 years. She is currently the director of the Special Education Technology Center. Her leadership role at SETC includes providing consultation to administrators and educators on AT procedures and best practices. In addition she actively teaches webinars, in-person classes and consultation on the implementation of assistive technology for children with wide range of physical and cognitive abilities.
