Description:

 In this one hour webinar, the powerful writing support features of Co:Writer Universal will be demonstrated across platforms including Google, Microsoft and iPads.  In the Co:Writer Chrome Extension, features such as a momentary topic dictionaries and speech to text are providing new levels of accessibility and supports for students’ writing. Co:Writer Chrome extension now works with Word online within Office 365 as well as google docs. Co:Writer Universal also provides teachers with writing data on each student to help guide writing instruction.  Examples will be shared of how Co:Writer can be incorporated in UDL lessons.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will learn the newest features and cross platform accessibility of Co:Writer Universal.

Participants will identify which version and features of Co:Writer Universal will work best for their district and specific student needs.

Participants will see examples of how to design UDL lesson plans with Co:Writer as a writing support tool.


Presenter:

Rose Racicot, MS, OTR/L is an OT and Assistive Technology Specialist in Kent School District and at Special Education Technology Center at CWU with 31 years of experience. She has conducted research and been published on “The Effect of Multimedia Software on Written Productivity”.  She presents workshops on Assistive Technology, literacy support software, Universal Design for Learning and iPad use in education at state and national conferences as well as guest lecturing at local OT and OTA schools. She is passionate about helping educators implement Universal Design for Learning principles to create inclusive classrooms for all students to succeed.
