We know that Dragon Naturally Speaking allows students to use speech to text for written expression but did you know students can also control their computer using Dragon Naturally Speaking (DNS).  DNS is also currently the only Speech to Text option that works within the secure browser on state testing.  This webinar will introduce you to the features of Dragon Naturally Speaking and discuss training students to use Speech Recognition.
Learning Objectives:

Participants in the webinar will learn:

Basic Voice training set up of Dragon Naturally Speaking

Basic commands for writing documents.

Overview of mouse controls using Dragon Naturally Speaking.

Overview of “Speech Recognition as AT for Writing” Guide by Cochrane & Key.

Tips for successful implementation of Dragon Naturally Speaking.



Linda Doehle started her career as a software engineer after completing her degrees in

Computer Science and Mathematics at Whitworth College.  She brought her technical skills to

the field of assistive technology while working as an Assistive Technology Specialist for the

Yakima School District.  Linda holds an AT Specialist Certificate and enjoys being able to use her

technology skills in helping students optimize their abilities through the use of assistive

technology.  Linda has been with the Special Education Technology Center for four years and

has presented webinars and classes at both state and local conferences.
