Looking for free accessible books and activities for your students who use switches (and those who aren’t)? Tarheel Reader and Tarheel Gameplay are two free websites from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill that allow your students to either read simple accessible books on a variety of topics, create their own books, or play easy to use accessible games. These sites can be used with touchscreen or 1-3 switches on iPads, Chrome browser, and even within Pictello.

Sarah Kinsella, MA CCC-SLP is a Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for Assistive Technology. She holds a Master’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and has worked in the public school setting for 9 years. For the past 4 years she has also served as an Assistive Technology Specialist for her school district. She is continually researching and trialing assistive technology for literacy and communication and has a particular interest in collaborating with and supporting others in the area of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
